Sites built with open platforms are normally the easiest to move. This includes WordPress, many PHP-based websites and sites where we can access the files and database.
We may need access to:
- The old hosting control panel.
- Website files through FTP, SFTP or a file manager.
- The database.
- The website admin area.
- DNS or domain settings when it is time to go live.
Some websites are harder to move. Closed website builders may not allow the full site to be exported or moved to standard hosting. In those cases, the site may need to be rebuilt rather than migrated.
