How to Use SSL/TLS Certificates in cPanel

SSL/TLS Certificates screen in cPanel

Open SSL/TLS Certificates

  1. Go to Security > SSL/TLS Certificates.
  2. Use the tabs to move between certificate tools.

Check Certificate Status

  1. Open the Status tab.

  1. Review each domain.
  2. Open the certificate details if you need to check the issuer or expiry date.

Use the Wizard

  1. Open the Wizard tab.

  1. Select the domain or domains.
  2. Follow the purchase or installation steps shown by cPanel.

Manage Certificates

  1. Open the Certificates tab.

  1. View, upload, or delete certificates as needed.

Manage Private Keys and CSRs

  1. Open the Keys tab to manage private keys.
  2. Open the Requests tab to manage certificate signing requests.

Install a Certificate

  1. Open the Installation tab.

  1. Choose the domain.
  2. Paste the certificate, key, and CA bundle if needed.
  3. Install the certificate.

Notes

  • Some cPanel servers show these tools as separate pages instead of one tabbed interface.
  • Use SSL/TLS Status first if you only need to check whether SSL is working.
  • Be careful when deleting certificates or private keys.
