How to Use Spam Filters in cPanel

Turn Spam Filtering On

  1. Log in to cPanel.
  2. Go to Email > Spam Filters.
  3. Turn on Process New Emails and Mark them as Spam.

Change the Spam Threshold

  1. Go to Email > Spam Filters.
  2. Click Spam Threshold Score.

  1. Choose a score from the menu.
  2. Click Update Scoring Options.

Move Spam to a Spam Folder

  1. Go to Email > Spam Filters.
  2. Turn on Move New Spam to a Separate Folder.
  3. cPanel will place spam in a spam folder instead of leaving it in the inbox.

Empty the Spam Folder

  1. Go to Email > Spam Filters.
  2. Click Configure Spam Box Settings.
  3. Choose whether to empty one spam folder or all spam folders.
  4. Confirm the deletion.

Automatically Delete Spam

  1. Go to Email > Spam Filters.
  2. Turn on Automatically Delete New Spam.
  3. Click Configure Auto-Delete Settings.
  4. Choose the auto-delete threshold.
  5. Click Update Auto-Delete Score.

Add an Address to the Whitelist

  1. Go to Email > Spam Filters.
  2. Click Show Additional Configurations.

  1. Click Edit Spam Whitelist Settings.
  2. Click Add A New "whitelist_from" Item.
  3. Enter the email address.
  4. Click Update Whitelist.

Add an Address to the Blacklist

  1. Go to Email > Spam Filters.
  2. Click Show Additional Configurations.
  3. Click Edit Spam Blacklist Settings.
  4. Click Add A New "blacklist_from" Item.
  5. Enter the email address.
  6. Click Update Blacklist.

Notes

  • Lower threshold scores catch more spam but may catch more genuine mail too.
  • Auto-delete permanently removes matching messages, so use it carefully.
