How to Use Dynamic DNS in cPanel

Create a Dynamic DNS Domain

  1. Go to Domains > Dynamic DNS.
  2. Click Create.
  3. Enter the subdomain you want to use.
  4. Choose the domain.
  5. Add an IP address manually if needed.
  6. Add a description if it helps you identify the device or location.
  7. Click Create.

Copy the Webcall URL

  1. Go to Domains > Dynamic DNS.
  2. Find the Dynamic DNS domain.
  3. Copy the webcall URL.
  4. Add the URL to the router, firewall, or device that should update the IP address.

Recreate the Webcall URL

  1. Go to Domains > Dynamic DNS.
  2. Select the Dynamic DNS domain.
  3. Click Action.
  4. Choose Recreate URL.
  5. Update the device with the new URL.

Delete a Dynamic DNS Domain

  1. Go to Domains > Dynamic DNS.
  2. Select the Dynamic DNS domain.
  3. Click Action.
  4. Choose Delete.
  5. Confirm the deletion.

Notes

  • Dynamic DNS is useful when an internet connection has a changing IP address.
  • Keep the webcall URL private.
  • Deleting a Dynamic DNS domain does not delete any SSL certificate that was issued for it.
