How to Use Backup Wizard in cPanel

Create a Backup

1. Go to Files > Backup Wizard.
2. Click Back Up.
3. Choose Full Backup or choose a partial backup type.
4. For a full backup, choose where cPanel should store it.
5. Enter an email address if you want a completion notice.
6. Click Generate Backup.

Download a Partial Backup

1. Go to Files > Backup Wizard.
2. Click Back Up.
3. Choose the item you want to download, such as Home Directory or a database.
4. Save the file to your computer.

Restore a Partial Backup

1. Go to Files > Backup Wizard.
2. Click Restore.
3. Choose the restore type.
4. Click Choose File.
5. Select the backup file from your computer.
6. Click Upload.

Notes

• Backup Wizard is the simplest backup screen for most users.
• Keep a local copy of important backups.
• Restoring files can overwrite current website files.
