Unlock Your Domain

You may need to unlock a domain before transferring it to another provider.

Unlock the Domain

  1. Log in to your 4UHosting customer account.
  2. Open the Domains section.
  3. Select the domain you want to unlock.
  4. Open the domain management page.
  5. Click Registrar Lock.
  6. Click Disable Registrar Lock.

Before You Transfer the Domain

  • Make sure the registrant email address is correct.
  • Get the EPP code if the new provider asks for one.
  • Check that the domain is not expired.
  • Keep a copy of any DNS records you may need after the transfer.

If You Cannot Unlock the Domain

Open a support ticket and tell us which domain you want to unlock.

Some domains may be locked because of their current status, recent registration, recent transfer, or registry rules.
