How to Manage SSL/TLS in cPanel

SSL/TLS Certificates screen in cPanel

Open SSL/TLS

  1. Go to Security > SSL/TLS.
  2. Choose the SSL tool you need.

Generate a Private Key

  1. Click Generate, view, upload, or delete your private keys.

  1. Choose the key type and size if cPanel asks.
  2. Enter a description.
  3. Click Generate.

Generate a CSR

  1. Click Generate, view, or delete SSL certificate signing requests.

  1. Choose the domain.
  2. Enter the contact and organisation details requested by cPanel.
  3. Click Generate.

Upload or Manage a Certificate

  1. Click Generate, view, upload, or delete SSL certificates.
  2. Paste the certificate or upload the certificate file.
  3. Save the certificate.

Install SSL for a Website

  1. Click Manage SSL sites.

  1. Choose the domain.
  2. Paste the certificate, private key, and CA bundle if needed.
  3. Click Install Certificate.

Notes

  • Most sites use AutoSSL, so manual SSL tools are only needed in specific cases.
  • Keep private keys secure.
  • If your cPanel uses the newer tabbed SSL interface, the same tools may appear under SSL/TLS Certificates.
