How to Manage DNS Records in cPanel

Open the DNS Zone

  1. Go to Domains > Zone Editor.
  2. Find the domain.
  3. Click Manage.

Add a DNS Record

  1. Open Zone Editor.
  2. Click Manage next to the domain.
  3. Click Add Record.

  1. Choose the record type.
  2. Enter the name, TTL, and record value.
  3. Click Save Record.

Add a Quick A, CNAME, or MX Record

  1. Go to Domains > Zone Editor.
  2. Find the domain.
  3. Click A Record, CNAME Record, or MX Record.
  4. Enter the requested details.
  5. Click the add button.

Edit a DNS Record

  1. Open Zone Editor.
  2. Click Manage next to the domain.
  3. Find the record.
  4. Click Edit.
  5. Change the details.
  6. Click Save Record.

Delete a DNS Record

  1. Open Zone Editor.
  2. Click Manage next to the domain.
  3. Find the record.
  4. Click Delete.
  5. Confirm the deletion.

Notes

  • DNS changes can take time to update across the internet.
  • Be careful with MX, SPF, DKIM, DMARC, and A records because they can affect email or website access.
  • If your DNS is hosted elsewhere, changes in cPanel may not control the live domain.
