Email Account Settings for All Email Clients and Devices

Use these settings when setting up a 4UHosting mailbox in an email program, phone, tablet, or other device.

Recommended SSL Settings

Use SSL/TLS settings whenever possible.

Username and Password

Your username is your full email address.

Use the password you chose when you created the mailbox in cPanel.

Do not use SPA or Secure Password Authentication if your email program shows that option.

Incoming Mail Settings

Use IMAP unless you specifically need POP3.

  • Incoming server: mx.yourdomain
  • IMAP port: 993
  • POP3 port: 995
  • SSL/TLS: on
  • Username: your full email address
  • Password: the mailbox password

Replace yourdomain with your own domain name.

Outgoing Mail Settings

  • Outgoing server: mx.yourdomain
  • Recommended SMTP port: 465 with SSL/TLS
  • Alternative SMTP port: 587 with STARTTLS
  • SMTP authentication: on
  • Username: your full email address
  • Password: the mailbox password

Find the Exact Settings in cPanel

  1. Log in to cPanel.
  2. Open Email Accounts.
  3. Find the email address you want to set up.
  4. Click Connect Devices.
  5. Scroll to the manual settings section.
