How to Edit an Email Account in cPanel

Steps

  1. Log in to cPanel.
  2. Go to Email > Email Accounts.
  3. Find the email address you want to edit.
  4. Click Manage.
  5. Update the settings you need to change.
  6. Click Update Email Settings when you are finished.

Change the Password

  1. Open the account with Manage.
  2. Find the Security section.

  1. Enter a new password, or click Generate to create one.
  2. Click Update Email Settings.

Change the Storage Limit

  1. Open the account with Manage.
  2. Find the Storage section.

  1. Enter a custom mailbox size, or choose Unlimited if available.
  2. Click Update Email Settings.

Suspend or Restrict an Account

  1. Open the account with Manage.
  2. Find the Restrictions section.

  1. Choose whether the account can log in, receive mail, or send mail.
  2. Click Update Email Settings.

Delete the Email Account

  1. Open the account with Manage.
  2. Click Delete Email Account.

  1. Confirm the deletion.

Notes

  • You cannot rename an email account. To use a different address, create a new account or add a forwarder.
  • Deleting an email account permanently deletes the mailbox data.
  • The system user email account has fewer options than normal email accounts.
