If you have a managed cloud server with 4UHosting, server-level patching is normally handled as part of the managed service.
This means you do not usually need to log in as root or run operating system updates yourself. We look after the server-level work needed to keep the managed environment maintained and supportable.
You are still responsible for the software running inside your websites unless this is covered by a separate agreement. For example, WordPress core, plugins, themes, ecommerce software and custom code may still need updating.
If you receive a warning about server software, PHP versions or operating system updates, please contact support before making changes yourself. We can check whether the warning relates to the managed server environment, your website software or both.
