How to Create Email Forwarders in cPanel

Add an Email Forwarder

  1. Log in to cPanel.
  2. Go to Email > Forwarders.
  3. Choose the domain from the Managing menu.
  4. Click Add Forwarder.

  1. Enter the first part of the email address in Address to Forward. For example, enter sales for sales@example.com.
  2. Choose the domain.
  3. Select Forward to Email Address.
  4. Enter the destination email address.
  5. Click Add Forwarder.

Forward to More Than One Address

  1. Follow the steps above.
  2. In the destination field, enter each email address separated by commas.

  1. Click Add Forwarder.

Delete a Forwarder

  1. Go to Email > Forwarders.
  2. Find the forwarder in the list.

  1. Click Delete.
  2. Confirm by clicking Delete Forwarder.

Add a Domain Forwarder

  1. Go to Email > Forwarders.
  2. Click Add Domain Forwarder.

  2. Enter the domain to forward to.
  3. Click Add Domain Forwarder.

Trace a Forwarder

  1. Go to Email > Forwarders.
  2. Find the forwarder.
  3. Click Trace.
  4. Review the delivery path shown by cPanel.

Notes

  • To keep a copy in the original mailbox, create the mailbox first and then add the forwarder.
  • You cannot edit an existing forwarder. Delete it and create a new one.
  • Domain forwarders only apply to addresses that do not already exist.
