How to Create Email Filters in cPanel

Steps

  1. Log in to cPanel.
  2. Go to Email > Email Filters.
  3. Find the email account.
  4. Click Manage Filters.

  1. Click Create a New Filter.

  1. Enter a filter name.
  2. Set the rule. For example, choose From, contains, and then enter the sender or keyword.
  3. Choose the action cPanel should take when the rule matches.
  4. Click Create.

Edit a Filter

  1. Go to Email > Email Filters.
  2. Click Manage Filters next to the account.
  3. Find the filter.

  1. Click Edit.
  2. Make your changes.
  3. Click Save.

Delete a Filter

  1. Go to Email > Email Filters.
  2. Click Manage Filters next to the account.
  3. Find the filter.
  4. Click Delete.
  5. Confirm the deletion.

Test a Filter

  1. Open Manage Filters for the account.
  2. Enter a sample message in the filter test box.
  3. Click Test Filter.
  4. Review what cPanel says will happen to the message.

Notes

  • Filters run in the order shown on the page.
  • Create separate filters when different messages need different actions.
