Activating and Deactivating Plugins in WordPress

WordPress plugins add extra features to your site. You can activate, deactivate and manage them from the WordPress dashboard.

To install and activate a plugin:

  1. Log in to your WordPress admin area.
  2. Go to Plugins.
  3. Select Add New.
  4. Search for the plugin you want to use.
  5. Select Install Now.
  6. Select Activate.

To deactivate a plugin:

  1. Log in to your WordPress admin area.
  2. Go to Plugins.
  3. Find the plugin you want to disable.
  4. Select Deactivate.

You can also deactivate several plugins at once by ticking the boxes beside them, choosing Deactivate from the bulk actions menu and selecting Apply.

If your WordPress site is slow or showing errors, temporarily deactivating plugins can help you identify whether one of them is causing the problem.
