In current versions of cPanel, these are usually managed from the <strong>Domains<\/strong> area instead.<\/p>\n<p>An additional domain is used when you want to host a separate website on the same hosting account. It has its own document root, so the files for that site can sit in a different folder from your main website.<\/p>\n<p>A domain alias is used when you want more than one domain to show the same website. For example, you might want the <code>.co.uk<\/code> and <code>.com<\/code> versions of a domain to load the same site.<\/p>\n<p>In most cases, if two domains are for the same business or website, a redirect is better than showing the same content on both domains. A redirect sends visitors and search engines to the main version of the domain.<\/p>\n<p>To manage domains in cPanel:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Log in to the client area at https:\/\/clients.4uhosting.co.uk.<\/li>\n<li>Choose <strong>My Services<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li>Find the hosting service and select <strong>Manage<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li>Select <strong>Login to cPanel<\/strong> from the left side.<\/li>\n<li>Open <strong>Domains<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>From there, you can add a new domain, check the document root for an existing domain or manage redirects.<\/p>\n<p>If you are not sure whether you need an additional domain, an alias or a redirect, please contact support and we can advise before you make changes.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>cPanel used to describe extra domains as addon domains and parked domains.
