A subdomain is an extra address that sits before your main domain name.<\/p>\n

For example, if your domain is example.co.uk<\/code>, you could create a subdomain such as shop.example.co.uk<\/code>, blog.example.co.uk<\/code> or support.example.co.uk<\/code>.<\/p>\n

Subdomains are often used for separate sections of a website, test areas, shops, portals or applications. They can point to a different folder inside your hosting account.<\/p>\n

To create a subdomain:<\/p>\n

  1. Log in to the 4UHosting client area at https:\/\/clients.4uhosting.co.uk.<\/li>\n
  2. Choose My Services<\/strong>.<\/li>\n
  3. Find the hosting service and select Manage<\/strong>.<\/li>\n
  4. Select Login to cPanel<\/strong> from the left side.<\/li>\n
  5. Open Domains<\/strong>.<\/li>\n
  6. Select Create A New Domain<\/strong>.<\/li>\n
  7. Enter the subdomain you want to create, such as blog.example.co.uk<\/code>.<\/li>\n
  8. Choose the document root folder for the subdomain.<\/li>\n
  9. Save the new domain.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    The document root is the folder where the subdomain’s website files will live.<\/p>\n
