WordPress.com and WordPress.org are different. WordPress.com is a hosted platform, while WordPress.org refers to the self-hosted WordPress software you can install on your own hosting.<\/p>\n

To move content from WordPress.com to a self-hosted WordPress site:<\/p>\n

  1. Log in to your WordPress.com dashboard.<\/li>\n
  2. Go to Tools > Export<\/strong>.<\/li>\n
  3. Export your content.<\/li>\n
  4. Install WordPress on your 4UHosting account.<\/li>\n
  5. Log in to the new WordPress dashboard.<\/li>\n
  6. Go to Tools > Import<\/strong>.<\/li>\n
  7. Choose the WordPress importer.<\/li>\n
  8. Upload the export file from WordPress.com.<\/li>\n
  9. Follow the on-screen steps to import the content.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    This normally moves posts, pages and other content included in the export. Themes, plugins and some media may need to be handled separately depending on the WordPress.com plan and export.<\/p>\n
