You can transfer a domain away from 4UHosting if you want another provider to manage the renewal.<\/p>\n

UK Domain Transfers Away<\/h2>\n

For UK domains such as .co.uk<\/strong>, .org.uk<\/strong>, and .me.uk<\/strong>, the new provider will give you their registrar tag.<\/p>\n

To transfer the domain away:<\/p>\n

  1. Log in to your 4UHosting customer account.<\/li>\n
  2. Open the Domains<\/strong> section.<\/li>\n
  3. Select the domain you want to transfer.<\/li>\n
  4. Open the domain management page.<\/li>\n
  5. Use the Release Domain<\/strong> option if it is available.<\/li>\n
  6. Enter the new provider’s registrar tag.<\/li>\n
  7. Submit the change.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    UK domain transfers usually complete quickly once the tag has been changed.<\/p>\n

    If you cannot see the release option, open a support ticket and tell us the domain name and the new registrar tag.<\/p>\n

    Other Domain Transfers Away<\/h2>\n

    For most non-UK domains, you normally need to unlock the domain and get the EPP code.<\/p>\n

    1. Log in to your 4UHosting customer account.<\/li>\n
    2. Open the Domains<\/strong> section.<\/li>\n
    3. Select the domain you want to transfer.<\/li>\n
    4. Unlock the domain if registrar lock is enabled.<\/li>\n
    5. Get the EPP code.<\/li>\n
    6. Give the EPP code to the new provider when you start the transfer with them.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

      These transfers can take several days to complete.<\/p>\n

      Before You Start the Transfer<\/h2>\n

      • Check that the domain is not expired.<\/li>\n
      • Check that the registrant email address is correct.<\/li>\n
      • Ask the new provider which nameservers you should use.<\/li>\n
      • Consider changing nameservers before starting the transfer if the website or email needs to move first.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

        60 Day Transfer Rule<\/h2>\n

        Many domains have a 60 day transfer rule.<\/p>\n

        You may not be able to transfer a domain if it has been registered, transferred, or had certain registrant changes made within the last 60 days.<\/p>\n

        If you are unsure whether this applies to your domain, open a support ticket and we will check it for you.<\/p>\n

        After the Transfer<\/h2>\n

        Please let us know when the transfer has completed so we can remove the domain from your 4UHosting account.<\/p>\n
