Dreamweaver FTP Settings

Dreamweaver uses your standard FTP settings to connect to your website. These were sent to you in an email entitled "New Hosting Account Information". Your username and password are the same as your cPanel login details. If you need to understand more about FTP you can read our General FTP Guide in this knowledge base.

There is one further piece of information required for Dreamweaver. This is the "Hosting Directory". When prompted to enter this information you should enter the directory that applies to the website you are uploading...

If you are uploading to your main website on the primary domain associated with the hosting plan, you should enter public_html in the "Hosting Directory" box.

If you are uploading to an addon domain, you should enter the path to the directory you specified for that website when you created the addon domain in cPanel. If you used the default settings, this will be the domain name for example...
public_html/exampledomain4u.co.uk. When adding addon domains, you can choose yor own path and direcotry name, so it is important to make sure you know what that is before you set up dreamweaver. If you need help with this, just let us know.
